Disaster Preparedness Playbook for Obstetrics and Neonatal Units is Published
The Maternal Infant Disaster Preparedness Coalition (MIDPC) was formed in July 2021 and is a coalition of subject matter experts in perinatal, neonatal, and emergency management who recognize that disaster preparedness gaps for this vulnerable population must be addressed. Upon identifying the lack of cohesive preparedness guidance and resources for this high-risk population, MIDPC set upon creating guidelines for Maternity and NICU hospitals. The Disaster Preparedness Playbook for Obstetrics and Neonatal Units has now been published! Its goal is to assist in healthcare facility disaster planning for perinatal patients. View it as well as a presentation on how to use it for details on preparing for the overlooked and vulnerable population of pregnant women and babies.
